Japan’s Only Art Fair Dedicated to Crafts
Established in 2017, Kogei Art Fair Kanazawa is the only art fair in Japan dedicated to crafts (kogei). Held annually in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, the fair showcases the work of emerging creators and internationally acclaimed artists, drawing a host of galleries from Japan and abroad. Traditions such as the tea ceremony, Zen, and noh theatre are deeply rooted in the vibrant life of the city, making Kanazawa the ideal place for promoting Japan’s unique culture of fine crafts. Now in its seventh edition, Kogei Art Fair Kanazawa will take place at the Hyatt Centric Kanazawa, which features many works by local craft artists.
