Audrey Gambier
展示エリア|Kansui Park AreaGambier has a background in classical ballet. Inspired by her experiences with acting and stage direction, she creates humorous works that question the relationship between art and the viewer. Her Soft Vases series, inspired by the pottery of Kuwata Takuro, consist of wearable textiles in the shape of ceramic vessels. Gambier has taken the bright colors, unusual textures, and humorously improbable forms characteristic of Kuwata’s vessels and reimagined them as soft, light textiles that can be entered into and moved about. Inside the textiles, occupants can freely manipulate the shape of the vessels, almost like a potter manipulating clay. The exhibition features 10 works by Gambier, including six new works, shown at the Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art and Design.
